August 2008 - I had just turned 62 years of age. was out of shape and had not done any exercise for years and was concerned about my future. My father died in his early 60's and Murielle had several uncles that died around the same age. Several weeks later I saw the preview for the movie " The Bucket List" and it started me thinking about doing something but I didn't have anything in particular on my bucket list.
September 2008 - Still thinking... I started noticing people bicycling along Highway 2 near home either alone or in groups with fully loaded bikes. A friend of ours, Lise Brooks, had bicycled across Canada when she was in her mid fifty's, and I was fascinated with her stories upon her return. I used to do a lot of cycling when I was in my 30's and 40's but very little for the past 20 years.
October 2008 - I made up my mind... Bicycle Across Canada and combine it with Geocaching !
